One of the earliest charters for Associated Industries of Florida articulated the purpose of the Association:
To encourage and support the business and industrial enterprises of Florida, afford a medium for their cooperation in support of constructive policies relating to all matters affecting them, and for their protection against unjust action from any source;
To advocate fair and equitable legislation affecting the welfare of its members or of business and industrial activities of the State as a whole;
To encourage goodwill, harmony and fair dealing among its members and between them and their employees,
To obtain, possess and disseminate information of interest or moment to its members; and
To promote the general welfare and prosperity of the commonwealth of Florida as a whole.
