Health Care Task Force

Taxation Committee
Dealing with the taxation issues being considered by the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission (TBRC) and the Florida Legislature. Every 20 years, the TBRC has the constitutional duty to examine the state’s budgetary process, revenue needs and the appropriateness of the tax structure. It has already begun to develop several proposals that have the potential to impact all members of the business community; and the Legislature is tackling a myriad of taxation issues in response to the current fiscal crisis the state is experiencing. Issues to be addressed include mandatory review and repeal of sales tax exemptions, review of sales tax exclusions, internet sales tax, tax credits for economic development, communications services tax, property tax reforms, etc...Learn more about the AIF Taxation Committee...
Workers’ Compensation Coalition
The workers’ compensation system is supposed to be a simple and effective mechanism for protecting injured workers without bankrupting their employers. The reforms spearheaded by AIF’s Workers’ Compensation Coalition in 2003 have resulted in average premium reductions of over 50%.
