AIF Political Council Candidate Meet & Greet Luncheon

On Friday, November 6, 2009, the AIF Political Council (AIFPC) held its second luncheon of the Candidate Meet & Greet series at AIF’s headquarters.   The meet and greet luncheons are an exclusive benefit to AIFPC members and will be scheduled each month leading up the 2010 Florida Session.  The members of the AIFPC met with three legislative candidates at Friday’s luncheon:  Bill Montford (D-Tallahassee), Democrat candidate for Senate District 6; Kristen Beall (R-Mt. Dora), Republican candidate for House District 25; and Dana Young (R-Tampa), Republican candidate for House District 57. 

It was an excellent opportunity for the AIFPC members to learn more about their respective campaigns, along with discussing their issues with these first-time legislative candidates. The Meet & Greet luncheons give the candidates and the AIFPC members a venue to get to know one another in an informal setting before entering into the AIFPC candidate questionnaire and interview process.  All of this is important in building relationships with prospective legislators and starting the open dialogue on the issues important to the business community.
