tax workshop

On August 1, 2003, the Florida Department of Revenue will
hold a workshop on its proposed rule for applying the communication
services tax to substitute communications systems.
If
your business operates a private, two-way mobile-radio system for
dispatch and communication between service vehicles and company
headquarters, we urge you to attend the workshop, which will begin at 9:00
a.m. in Room 116 of the Larsen Building. Under the proposed rule, you
may become liable for payment of the 9.17-percent statewide
communication services tax on the cost of operating the system (in
addition, you would be responsible for any local communication services tax).
