Dear President King and Speaker Byrd:

By virtue of the power and authority vested in me by Article III, Section 3(c)(1) of the Florida Constitution, I am writing to communicate one additional expansion of the call for the current Special Session that begins at 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2003, and extending through 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2003. I am hereby expanding the call to the Legislature of the State of Florida for the Special Session for the purpose of considering and passing by joint resolution the interim state redistricting plan entered by the federal court to remedy the objections of the Department of Justice under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.
