Governor's Medicaid Reform Plan Reaches Compromise
October
19, 2005
We have just learned that
Governor Bush and the US Department of Health and Human Services have
reached a compromise on the Governor's Medicaid reform plan. At this
time, details are sketchy on the details of the compromise, but the
sticking point had been the hospital's Upper Payment Limit (UPL). Gov.
Bush and HHS Secretary Leavitt plan to sign an agreement later today
in Washington, DC. As a result, we expect a special session to be called
on this issue the week of December 5th. |
