House Speaker Announces Committee Chair Assignments

House Speaker-Designate Dean Cannon has announced the committee chair assignments for the 2010-2012 Florida House of Representatives. The appointments are as follows:
Rep. Dorothy Hukill (R-Port Orange) as Economic Affairs Committee Chair;
Rep. Bill Proctor (R-St. Augustine) as Education Committee Chair;
Rep. Steve Precourt (R-Orlando) as Finance & Tax Committee Chair;
Rep. Robert Schenk (R-Springhill) as Health & Human Services Committee Chair;
Rep. William Snyder (R-Stuart) as Judiciary Committee Chair;
Rep. Will Weatherford (R-Wesley Chapel) as Redistricting Committee Chair; and
Rep. Seth McKeel (R-Lakeland) as State Affairs Committee Chair.
The new assignments will take effect on November 16th when the House meets in organization session. Furthermore, the Speaker-Designate has announced that he will appoint subcommittee chairs before the week of December 6.
