Governor Jeb Bush today announced his appointment of Richard E. Doran to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Attorney General Bob Butterworth. Doran will serve as Attorney General through Monday, January 6, 2003, the expiration of the term to which Attorney General Butterworth was elected in 1998.

“Richard has a long and distinguished record of public service,” said Governor Bush. “Richard’s experience handling the day-to-day management of the Attorney General’s office will enable him to oversee an orderly transition to our state’s next elected Attorney General.”

Doran currently serves as Deputy Attorney General.
