Veto Override List Announced

November 4, 2010

Moments ago, incoming House and Senate presiding officers Sen. Mike Haridopolos (R-Melbourne) and Rep. Dean Cannon (R-Winter Park) held a press conference to release the list of veto overrides they would like to tackle during a one-day Special Session to be held November 16th.  It appears that an agreement has been reached by both chambers that the bills below will be considered.  The majority of the bills were passed by large margins in both chambers last session.  They were vetoed by Governor Charlie Crist, who at the time had dropped his affiliation with the Republican Party and had been sparring with Republican Party leaders.  With the new veto-proof Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, the probability of a successful veto override of these bills is highly likely.
