AIF Launches Media Blitz in Support of Tort Reform Legislation

Tallahassee, Fla.—The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) today launched a media ad campaign to highlight the business community’s support of tort reform legislation, Senate Bill 236 and House Bill 837, currently being considered by the Florida Legislature this session. The campaign features ads on TV, radio, digital media, and billboards.

“Tort reform is the No. 1 issue for the business community this session, and AIF wants lawmakers to know that our members fully support and appreciate their efforts to rebalance the legal system in our state,” said AIF President and CEO Brewster Bevis. “With these reforms, Florida’s leaders are telling trial attorneys enough is enough and taking bold steps to rein in lawsuit abuse in our state. This will put an end, once and for all, to the tort tax that Florida businesses and consumers have been paying for far too long. Floridians should know how their elected officials are fighting for them, and that’s exactly why we’ve launched this campaign.”

The ads that will be featured on billboards around the Capitol in Tallahassee are included below:

Additionally, AIF has added a Tort Reform section to its website, which outlines its position on the issue, features the ads, and provides status updates on the legislation as it moves through the process.

Known as “The Voice of Florida Business” in the Sunshine State, AIF has represented the principles of prosperity and free enterprise before the three branches of state government since 1920. A voluntary association of diversified businesses, AIF was created to foster an economic climate in Florida conducive to the growth, development, and welfare of industry and business and the people of the state.
