AIF: HB 1645 Strengthens Energy Policy for Florida’s Future

Tallahassee, Fla.— The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) today released the following statement attributed to its President & CEO Brewster Bevis applauding the governor’s signing of House Bill 1645, a comprehensive energy package, which among other provisions, establishes goals to guide the state’s energy policy.

“We applaud Governor Ron DeSantis for signing HB 1645 into law today. This important energy package modernizes Florida’s energy policies, ensuring they align with our state’s current and future needs while holding costs down for Florida’s businesses and consumers.

“As Florida’s population continues to grow, so too does the need for domestic, reliable and affordable sources of fuel. This law will help to ensure our energy grid and fuel supply are well prepared to meet that demand by encouraging the construction of vitally necessary infrastructure – ultimately benefitting Florida consumers, small businesses and rapidly growing industries within the state.

“Thanks to the Florida Legislature for offering this package, and Governor Ron DeSantis for signing it into law, as this landmark piece of legislation will undoubtedly strengthen and diversify the energy choice options for residents and businesses in the Sunshine State.”
