After months of speculation as to the future of Speaker of the House Ray Sansom (R-Ft. Walton Beach), an official release has been made available detailing Representative Sansom's resignation as Speaker. Representative Sansom had been under intense pressure to resign in light of recent allegations into dealings with a state college. This week a grand jury in Tallahassee decided to press on with a formal investigation into the accusations. Speaker Pro Tempore Larry Cretul (R-Ocala) will perform all duties as Speaker of the House while the legal proceedings are on-going.
