TALLAHASSEE – Associated Industries of Florida Political Action Committee (AIFPAC) today announced its endorsement of Pam Bondi in the Republican primary for Florida Attorney General.
“A fresh face in Florida politics, Pam Bondi is a veteran prosecutor who has the courtroom experience needed to serve as our state’s chief legal officer. Ideologically and philosophically, she stands with Florida’s business community and her views on how to run the Attorney General’s office closely align with ours,” said Barney Bishop III, President and CEO of Associated Industries of Florida (AIF).
Over the span of a nearly two-decade career, Bondi has served as a front-line prosecutor who has put felons on Death Row and deftly managed high-profile cases. Her investigative and courtroom experience includes everything from violent crimes to consumer fraud. Bondi has helped manage and budget one of the largest state attorney’s offices in the state. She is a frequent contributor on national television programs, providing legal analysis on some of the country’s most talked-about cases.
“As Attorney General, know that I will focus on ensuring public safety and protecting our most vulnerable citizens. Additionally, as a cabinet member, I will fight to promote our state’s economic well being,” said Bondi. “I am committed to advancing policies that encourage business growth and job creation and reject government’s tendency to overregulate and stymie the free market system. I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Associated Industries of Florida PAC, and look forward to working with this esteemed organization on the issues affecting our state, including overturning the unconstitutional federal health care mandate.”
AIFPAC conducts a detailed political and issues analysis, in addition to evaluating past voting records, prior to making decisions on endorsements of candidates. Candidates for Governor and Cabinet positions must also complete a questionnaire in order to be considered for AIFPAC endorsement. AIFPAC’s endorsements provide important voting-record information and voting recommendations to AIF’s 10,000 business members.
