Today, Gov. Rick Scott, Senate President Mike Haridopolos, House Speaker Dean Cannon and U.S. Representative Steve Southerland spoke to the Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) Board of Directors at their annual board meeting in Tallahassee and discussed the issues facing Florida’s business community this upcoming legislative session. Their messages confirmed that our elected officials share the goals of the state’s business leaders to remove barriers to competition and economic growth so Florida will continue its evolution into an international trade leader.
Whether the challenges are curbing the rising costs of workers’ compensation, dealing with ever increasing unemployment taxes, or eliminating fraud and other insurance cost drivers, AIF members are committed to partnering with the Governor and Legislature to develop and implement policies that will grow and attract business to the Sunshine State.
Under the leadership of Tom Feeney, AIF’s new President and CEO, Florida’s business community will embrace the challenging opportunities of the coming weeks and months to reach its primary objectives of creating jobs and restoring balance to Florida’s economy.
