Tallahassee, Fla. – The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) today issued the following statement attributed to its President & CEO Tom Feeney regarding net neutrality.
“AIF believes the action by President Obama to call on the Federal Communications Commission to aggressively regulate Internet services is not in the best interest of Florida businesses and the economy.
“While we share the same beliefs in terms of an open and transparent Internet, AIF believes the Internet has flourished with little regulation to date and believes the federal government should not try to micromanage Internet access.
“AIF encourages the FCC not to make massive unilateral changes to Internet regulation that would disrupt the free market benefits, including increasing investments and furthering technological advances.”
Known as “The Voice of Florida Business” in the Sunshine State, AIF has represented the principles of prosperity and free enterprise before the three branches of state government since 1920. A voluntary association of diversified businesses, AIF was created to foster an economic climate in Florida conducive to the growth, development, and welfare of industry and business and the people of the state.
