Tallahassee, Fla. – The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) today released the following statement attributed to its President & CEO Tom Feeney regarding Governor Rick Scott cutting the manufacturing equipment sales tax as a part of the Florida First Budget.

“AIF applauds and thanks Governor Scott for permanently eliminating the sales tax imposed on the purchase of manufacturing equipment and machinery as a part of the Florida First Budget signed into law today.

“As Florida’s leader in manufacturing and Florida’s affiliate for the National Association of Manufacturers, AIF has been a strong advocate for this pro-business tax cut that will go a long way in helping to expand the manufacturing sector in Florida, diversifying our economy and adding high-wage and high-value jobs.”
