Tallahassee, Fla. – The Foundation of Associated Industries of Florida (FAIF), today announced that former Deputy Administrator and Director of the Center for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program Services (CMCS) at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Cindy Mann will deliver the keynote address at the 2016 Florida Health Care Affordability Summit on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
“We are honored that Cindy Mann, one of the nation’s preeminent authorities on health care policy and reform, will be joining us as the keynote speaker at the 2016 Florida Health Care Affordability Summit,” said Tom Feeney, president and CEO of AIF. “With more than 30 years of experience in federal and state health policy, Cindy will deliver thought-provoking insights and predictions on the future of the health care landscape, and we are truly looking forward to her being a part of this year’s summit.”
Mann, who is one of the nation’s foremost authorities on health care policy and reform and is known for leading the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), will share her insights and predictions on the future health care landscape. Mann has more than 30 years of experience in federal and state health policy, focused on health coverage, financing, access and operational issues.
In addition to Mann, Lars Houmann will serve as the opening speaker of this year’s Summit. Houmann, who is recognized each year as one of Florida’s most influential people in health care, will share how leaders can better serve clients and employees through building healthier communities. With more than 20 years of economic development experience and various leadership roles within Florida Hospital, he has been instrumental in setting the standard of excellence for health care and business in Florida.
The 2016 Florida Health Care Affordability Summit, which will he held on Monday, April 25, 2016, through Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla., will again bring together thought leaders from across the health care industry spectrum to engage in an objective, highly-engaging and, most importantly, uninhibited discussion in order to work toward practical, tangible solutions that will lower the barriers of accessibility to good, quality health care in the State of Florida for all.
