Tallahassee, Fla.—The AIF Coalition for the Future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Business today released a report detailing its AI policy recommendations during AIF’s 2025 Florida Business Forum held at the Capitol in Tallahassee. Last year, AIF established the Coalition, recognizing that as AI’s influence accelerates and both the state and federal government begin to act, there will be numerous challenges for employers. The Coalition has been meeting throughout the past year and led a discussion of its findings at today’s event with Coalition members Elizabeth Chernow, executive director of public policy at Comcast, Chris Hein, head of engineering for Google Public Sector, and Diya Wynn, responsible AI lead at Amazon.
The executive summary of the report is available here.
“As AI use continues to rapidly expand, Florida stands at a critical juncture,” said AIF President and CEO Brewster Bevis. “Recognizing the enormous impact this technology will have on all sectors of the business community, AIF launched the Coalition for the Future of AI in Business last year to ensure we were at the front of this important issue. The thoughtful policy recommendations outlined in this report are the culmination of the Coalition’s hard work and will assist the state in responsibly embracing AI opportunities, educate policymakers on the concerns of employers, and help develop guidelines for accountable and innovative AI policies.”
The Coalition’s report discusses the following components of AI policy: Definitions, Transparency, and Enforcement. For each of these three policy components, the report provides the status of language approved or previously proposed in Florida, summarizes concerns associated with the approved or proposed language, and provides recommendations for policymakers’ consideration.
Known as “The Voice of Florida Business” in the Sunshine State, AIF has represented the principles of prosperity and free enterprise before the three branches of state government since 1920. A voluntary association of diversified businesses, AIF was created to foster an economic climate in Florida conducive to the growth, development, and welfare of industry and business and the people of the state.
