AIF’s Center for Political Strategy, launched in late 2023 with the goal of ensuring pro-business candidates – both Republican and Democrat – are elected to the Florida Legislature, plays an integral role in AIF’s endorsement process. Through the Center, candidates for state senate and house races were interviewed regarding their motivations for seeking office, priorities if elected, and stances on issues important to Florida businesses, helping to determine those who would be the most effective and reliable advocates for the business community if elected.

“As Florida’s business community faces increasingly complex policy challenges, AIF’s Center for Political Strategy is continuing to identify, recruit, and support candidates – regardless of their political affiliation – who will be strong advocates for Florida’s employers and job creators,” added Bevis. “These endorsements reflect our ongoing commitment to building a Legislature that values economic growth, job creation, and a competitive business climate.”

AIF does not endorse in every race. There are several races with multiple qualified candidates, and there are also races where AIF was unable to gather enough information to determine which candidate would be better on business-related issues. Additionally, AIF does not endorse in races that are unopposed.

“In several races this election cycle, voters have multiple candidates who would serve their districts well and be strong advocates for Florida’s business community,” concluded Bevis. “We are confident we can work productively with any of these leaders to help keep Florida’s economy strong.”

Today’s endorsements are in addition to previously announced endorsements in several legislative races, including:

  • Senate District 8         Jake Johansson (R)
  • Senate District 22       James Buchanan (R)
  • Senate District 28       Lauren Melo (R)
  • House District 2          Jon Fay (R)
  • House District 12        Terrance Freeman (R)
  • House District 38        Emily Duda Buckley (R)
  • House District 64        Mike Suarez (D)
  • House District 68        Ryan Gill (R)
  • House District 82        Liesa Priddy (R)
  • House District 85        Anthony Bonna (R)
  • House District 100      Eric Stelnicki (R)

Additional endorsements for the 2026 election cycle may be released in the future.
